Collagen Facial with a holistic facial massage

This is a treatment that involves the care of the facial skin, using collagen products improving the texture, condition and look of the skin.  A series of cleansing, exfoliation and toning is applied along with a facial mask.  A massage of the face, shoulders and neck is also performed  to help tone the facial muscles. Whilst the facial mask is working, an extra massage of the neck and shoulders, including the head is performed.  This is not only a facial skin treatment but  is a therapy, in  itself,  to relieve the discomfort in  the muscles that carry a lot of tension and to de-stress and relax the body and mind.  How we look affects how we feel and how we feel affects how we look.

Menopausal Skin – The Inevitable Truth

“ As we age lots of things slow down. We may notice our physical energy levels drop but rarely do we consider that the energy levels in our skin are slowing down also.  We produce less collagen and it is of poorer quality than when we were 25, and we know that by the time we reach 45, Elastin production is almost non-existent. This too means that the skin has a much reduced immune defence mechanism.  This in turn leaves the skin vulnerable when having to deal with hot flushes etc. and with the increased risk of broken capillaries.  It also leaves it vulnerable to pigmentation patches, lines and wrinkles. We know that the female body changes dramatically during the menopausal years and this change can play havoc with our skin. The cutaneous barrier (protective) breaks down and the skin is left open to sensitive issues from within as well as the environment.  This forced sensitivity can be treated in different ways; by using a range designed for mature skin. If sensitivity is an issue due to lack of protection, then use products designed to soothe and strengthen the skin.”

For info, the harsh truth is, after the age of 25, skin is in it’s decline and can be classed as mature! Facials are beneficial whatever age you are, as prevention is key to prematurely ageing skin.

They say our hands can tell our age.  We expose our hands to the same environment as the skin on our face, but of course, our hands are more hard working and we often use very harsh products on them – extremes of hot water, cold water – detergents, soaps and even gardening if the hands are not protected, sun exposure and dryness can aid to premature aging of the hands and nails as well as the other usual culprits.  We can try and ‘put back’ what we have lost with the use of these skin strengthening products and therapies.

A hand and arm massage is performed whilst the foot mask is working.  A very relaxing and rejuvenating treatment for these hard working, often neglected  parts of our body!  (remember – bring your open toes shoes!)

Anti-Aging with Collagen  Pedicure

Our poor feet work very hard for us all the time. And we can often feel a bit disappointed with them especially in the spring /summer months when our feet are on show with our sandals and open toe shoes.  Just like the Collagen facial and manicure our feet can have the same benefits of a collagen treatment. 

This pedicure is also brilliant through out the winter months to prepare our feet to look and feel their youthful best for when they are on display!  ( remember - bring your open toed shoes!)

Hollywood Toes!!

Hollywood toes are a nail enhancement treatment, that doesn’t damage the natural nail and is the latest celebrity craze sweeping London and is all the rage in Tinsel Town hence the name. 

To get the celebrity look, a pink and white gel is painted over the toe nail, giving a semi-permanent, ‘Forever French’ finish that does not damage the natural nail and can last up to six weeks.  It is very hard wearing and has a fantastic, shiny, high gloss appearance.  The treatment involves, toe nail cutting and cuticle care.  A pink gel overlay is applied, a white gel and sealing gel and at stages cured under a UV nail lamp.

The whole process will take up to an hour or less. 

And all you will have to do is lay on the couch with your feet up having a well earned rest!

This look will last until it has completely grown out or removed. They recommend that after 6 weeks it is renewed, only because your natural nail growth is then becoming evident but that is not conclusive, as everyone’s growth cycle is different.  Removal is carried by buffing away the gel.  

You can also varnish over Hollywood toes, for a change, and remove the varnish and still have the Hollywood Toes in tact, as long as you use a base coat. Hollywood Toes are ideal all year round - but perfect for spring and summer time feet, Ideal for swimmers and holidays.

It enhances the appearance of your nails covering stains and discolouration.* It gives a permanent ‘French Polish’ look and will last until grown out/ removed/ renewed. It gives a very pretty and youthful look to the feet.

*not advisable if clinically diagnosed with fungal infection/disease

Eyelash Perming

This procedure has been around for a while, but it is not readily heard of. It is the permanent curling of eyelashes, to give an instant effect of the lashes of appearing longer.  The benefits are:

This treatment is a combination of dry body brushing; skin ‘polishing’ with an aromatic gentle body scrub, completed with a ‘zingy’ massage, with oils, stimulating the circulation and give you a boost! And, giving you gorgeous, radiant, glowing skin!

Hopi Ear Candling

This treatment is really good for anyone who has suffered with bad colds, flu and associated viruses and have been left with congested sinuses and associated pain and headaches. Also for any one suffering with itchy ear ( as long as no infection is present)

Hopi Ear Candles have a purely physical function.  A light suction action (chimney effect)  and the movement of the flame create a vibration of air in the Ear candle, generating a massage-like effect on the eardrum. In the treatment you lie comfortably on your side on a couch.

The lit candle is placed in the external ear-canal and is held and supported in place by the Practitioner for your comfort and safety. The candle is inserted in the entrance of the  external ear-canal and fits comfortably due to the tapered end soft fabric and wax. A gentle fizzing or crackling sound can be heard as the candle burns down and it may feel comfortably warm. During this time a relaxing and calming effect is often experienced.

Each candle will take approximately 8 minutes to burn down and is only allowed to burn to about 9cm / 3½" - a safe distance away from your hair and head! The candle is gently and safely removed and extinguished. After both ears have been treated a relaxing massage treating pressure points on the face & head  is given to complete the treatment.

For those who have not experienced a Hopi Ear-Candle treatment before the treatment is surprisingly relaxing and very enjoyable.
